General Counsel

Lifestyle Media Solutions (dba City Lifestyle) is seeking to fill an inhouse General Counsel position. You will be responsible for providing educated legal advice to senior management and executives on various legal matters and instruct them on how to remain compliant with current corporate laws.

You will be trusted with certain legal documents and private company information and must safely store and apply this information to help make wise legal decisions for the company. You will also handle certain statutory filings, like licensing forms, franchise documents and renewals at the State and Federal level. This includes ensuring compliance with State and Federal laws as a franchise entity.

It will be your role to minimize any legal situations while ensuring our best interest is always at the heart of the decisions to be made. This includes the awareness to know when and how to pull in outside counsel when specialized areas of expertise are needed to protect the best interest of City Lifestyle. There will also be responsibilities related to HR, insurance policies and premiums, etc.

Primary Responsibilities Advising executive members on new laws, existing laws and legal rights that would impact functionality of the business Overseeing the legal matters of the business as a whole, including acting as the business’ legal representative Maintaining knowledge of the company’s legal documents and operations including franchise documentation and corporate insurance policies. Crafting and reviewing legal strategy in response to any litigation Keeping a record of all legal documents and proceedings for the company Facilitating filings of licensing forms and other statutory requirements Communicating with outside counsel Legally filing for copyright of intellectual property This individual should possess the following skills/traits: Knowing the vision of our company, ensure it’s interests are protected from a legal perspective The desire to work in a fast paced environment.

Ability to adapt to growth within our rapidly expanding company. Self-induced initiative is greatly desired. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
