At River Edge in the Developmental Disabilities program, our caring, well trained staff partner with individuals, families, loved ones and other providers to offer individualized choices, options, opportunities and supports that promote each individual's valued social roles, pursuing expanded hopes and dreams, learning new skills, and living the most independent, meaningful life possible. Though people say "developmental disabilities," we see "different abilities." Staff teach, reinforce and support daily nutrition, hygiene, medication and social skills. Staff provide behavior supports and foster opportunities and options for community integration and belonging.

River Edge is currently looking for a General Clerk to work at our Woodfield Drive location in our Developmental Disabilities Division. duties to include general administrative duties (filing, scanning, answering phones, and helping with miscellaneous administrative tasks).

Minimum Training & Experience: High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:
Good customer service skills, strong clerical skills, filing experience, experience with using email, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, professional phone etiquette, and good communication skills. Billing and Community Service Board experience a plus.

River Edge is currently looking for a Lead Support Worker to work within our Developmental Disabilities Residential Division working primarily M-F, 8:30a - 5p. Duties & Responsibilities: Assists with daily living activities in individual's home or residential facility. Observes and monitors client's behavior and charts observations and incidents. Provides training on basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills. May assist with meal preparation, ADL's, and provide transportation. * Weekly summary notes * Ensure that goals are being tracked in the home * Attend ISP meetings (annually, at day center) * Weekly home meetings * Facilitate completion of monthly safety drills and turn in quarterly to office * Training of direct support staff in home * Financial management of individual funds * Instructs and advises individuals on daily living skills in one-on-one or group instruction. * Observes and monitors client behavior * Counsels and advises clients on behavioral problems, daily decision-making, and the resolution of minor problems * Provides personal care as needed * Performs housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, washing clothes and dishes, and running errands, as needed * May plan, shop for, and prepares meals, including special diets. (weekly grocery shopping). * Provides transportation for clients/residents to appointments and activities; to include doctor appointments as needed. * Upkeep of the agency vehicle assigned to the home * Maintains that medications are current in home * Monitors self-administration of medications * Reports home repairs * Flex schedule to cover for staff call outs, holiday coverage as needed Technical Competencies * Ability to observe and monitor participants' behavior. * Ability to assist and supervise participants with daily living activities. * Knowledge of agency confidentiality policies. * Knowledge of individualized service plans. * Knowledge of the documentation process. * Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. * Ability to plan recreational activities for participants. * Knowledge of agency safety policies and procedures. * Ability to complete all daily housekeeping chores. * Ability to identify and report facility repairs and equipment problems. * Conflict resolution skills. * Ability to identify disruptive behavior. * Ability to train individuals in personal hygiene and other daily living activities. * Ability to recognize contributions and celebrate accomplishments. * Other duties as assigned. Minimum Training & Experience: HS diploma/ GED and 1 year direct support experience.
