Job Designation

Our company is looking to hire a full time accounting clerk. This is a great opportunity for those with a solid background in accounting that is detail oriented and extremely organized. Maintaining a strong work ethic along with a positive attitude towards goal-completion is crucial to our values. You must have the ability to multitask and stay focused. Must have experience with Excel, a knack for numbers and possess great attention to detail. Must be organized and methodical when working through the general ledger and you love being busy and productive in a fast paced environment. Job Core Responsibilities

Operational Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate posting of financial transactions within accounts of responsibility. Prepare and journal entries into the general ledger and then validate entries for accuracy.

  • Prepare schedules for Intercompany transactions; communicate with sites to reconcile discrepancies. Identify and resolve any issues that arise.

  • Auditing and processing of Expense and Travel reports in accordance to the policies.

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations including cash and fixed assets reconciliations. Research and analyze any unmatched and / or out of balance entries.

  • Perform accounting responsibilities in SAP for asset disposals and acquisitions.

  • Produce routine reports, schedules, and summaries for FSSC management.

  • Identify and resolve General Accounting performance issues; escalate performance issues as appropriate to the GA Team Lead.

  • Meet service level agreements (SLA's) and performance targets related to General Accounting.

  • Support period end financial closing activities for General Accounting.

Customer Relationship Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for vendor and customer queries; Resolve any query issues according to defined policies and procedures.

  • Escalate as necessary any customer issues related to queries to the GA Team Lead.Perform other duties as assigned or requested

Job Specifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in Accounting, certificate from college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Recognized accounting qualification desirable.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong business acumen and customer orientation (building and maintaining).

  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, decision-making, planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

CORE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive knowledge of analytical tools, spreadsheets and databases in the current company operating system environment (MS Office) and IT.
  • SAP accounting systems experience preferred.

Qualifications * Experience with inventory control and reconciliations. * Comprehension of basic safety principles including proper lifting and use of personal protective equipment. * Ability to confidently manage "traffic" on the property to ensure the correct asset is at the correct dock at the correct time. * Intermediate computer skills, PC experience primarily with Windows 95 and Excel. * Thorough understanding of computer-based Warehouse Management System or SAP modules. * Simple forklift skills. * Stack product. * Load/unload trailer. * Read and Follow Written SOP's or instructions. * Complete documentation (handwritten and/or computer-based) to document activities/results with a high degree of accuracy/consistency. * Ability to competently organize/manage vast amounts of paper and electronic information related to warehouse inventory activities. * Follow verbal instructions. * Intermediate math skills. * Expert level skill level in operation of logistics inventory management system(s). * Ability to consistently count received product/materials and compare to manifest with a high degree of accuracy. * Possess very strong communication skills. * Customer management. * Accountability at check-in. * Ability to influence "up" to address reporting/accounting deficiencies. * Ability to work closely with Internal Audit. * Advanced investigative/research skills to identify and correct inventory discrepancies in a very complex environment with multiple streams of information in a potentially high-pressure environment. * Thorough understanding of elements contributing to logistics productivity.
