General Accountant

To support our mission to educate, entertain and enrich the lives of our readers, putting books in their hands, wherever, however, and whenever they choose, we need exceptional people Quarto is seeking a General Accountant to provide corporate accounting services including Management report preparation, bank reconciliations, general ledger account analysis and reconciliations, preparing and posting journal entries, preparing supporting schedules, and performing financial statement analysis of account variances. This position is located in our Beverly, MA office.

We are looking for someone highly motivated and ready to jump in to a fast paced environment. Job responsibilities include but not limited to: Responsible for monthly reconciliation of asset/liability accounts, providing supporting schedules and backup.

Responsible for preparation and distribution of management reports. Prepares and enters monthly journal entries. Recording of payroll and benefit transactions the Human Resource department in the general ledger.

Responsible for the accurate recording, amortization, and reconciliation of prepaid expenses. Prepare audit schedules that accurately balance to trial balance and answer auditor’s questions regarding those schedules. Perform expense and variance analysis reporting as requested by the Accounting Manager or Controller.

Recommend to Accounting Manager improvements in processes where possible. Prepare ad hoc reporting for management as required. Help provides support and coverage of inventory cost accountant position, when needed.

Do you have the following qualifications? Advanced Microsoft Office and computer skills. Full range of experience in accounting areas including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Collections and Billing, Accounts Payable and Inventory Accounting.

Job Cost Knowledge is Preferred, but not required. Strong attention to details. Self-disciplined with a strong work ethic (as added hours are needed for month-end closing) Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

Strong initiative, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. BS in Accounting or Finance. 5 years of General Ledger experience. Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience is a plus.
