What you bring to SBHG:
Bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting or finance, OR place of a degree, 9+ years of experience in budgeting, financial and business-related analysis, general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting and analysis, billing, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
Five years experience in budgeting, financial and business-related analysis, general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting and analysis, and billing, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
Knowledge of billing and county billing interfaces is required.
Knowledge of various County Behavioral Health Systems is preferred.
Valid California driver's license.
How you will make a difference:
The General Accountant is responsible for various accounting functions outlined in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities section below. This position ensures compliance with internal procedures and Federal, State, County, and local laws, and regulations. Handling extensive personal and confidential information is a critical aspect of this role.
Division/Program Overview:
Prepare and analyze budgets for county-funded programs. Prepare monthly financial statements by the 10th business day of the following month, including reconciling general ledger balance sheet accounts to their independent sources, such as bank accounts, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, payroll advances, fixed assets, accrued expenses, accrued payroll, deferred charges, and inter-company accounts, as well as posting program revenue. Review income and expense accounts for unusual items. Prepare various written and computerized reports for program administrators, the corporate office, and outside agencies, including overtime reports, productivity reports, County Flex Support details, and Special Pay Practice and Bonus Reports.
