Job Summary

Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy. Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures.

Record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information. Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals, ledgers, and/or computers. Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables.

Complete period-end closing procedures and reports as specified. Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures. Follow-up and resolve past due accounts and vendor invoices until payment in full is received or resolved.

Prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash received by all cash handling employees. Document, maintain, communicate, and act upon all Cash Variances. Prepare, maintain, and administer all cashier banks and contracts.

Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets; protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

The job will entail leading/performing process improvement and robotic initiatives and other projects, coaching others on the practical application of process improvement methods and tools, performing research and technical analysis, and communicating complex issues and recommendations to members of senior management. The assignments will vary but will require leadership and strong analytical skills by effectively using knowledge of business processes and tools to identify and solve challenging issues. Job Duties/Responsibilities Perform assignments requiring understanding and application of project management, change management and process improvement methods and tools. Coach others in the practical application of process improvement methods and tools. Develop, maintain and follow process improvement framework within accounting. Develop robotics to support the automation of processes within accounting. Effectively communicate complex issues and solution recommendations to senior management. Consider impacts from an accounting perspective when making process improvement recommendations. Develop networks throughout Accounting and broader Entergy organization to leverage in resolution of issues. Assist manager and department in managing multiple (and often competing) priorities and projects. Minimum education required of the position Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum experience required of the position 5+ years of process improvement work experience. Desired: functioning in a lead role on a project sub-team. Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position Knowledge: Understanding of basic accounting principles and processes; Proficient in the application of lean, six-sigma and/or agile methodologies; Skills: Excellent leadership and organizational skills; Strong analytical skills; Excellent oral and written communications skills; Proficient in use of MS Office application; Abilities: Ability to work independently and team environment; Strong focus on process improvements; Ability to lead project teams and facilitate in a group setting.
