We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Marketing Intern to join our dynamic marketing team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing, including digital marketing, email marketing, content creation, social media management, and administrative tasks. Under the guidance of the Director of Marketing & Content Service Delivery, you will learn the ropes of state, local, and government level marketing, contributing to meaningful projects and initiatives.

Expected Duration: 3 months, potentially extended upon review

Expected Compensation: Approximately $15.00 an hour and/or academic credit (choice to selected applicant depending on if program permits internship to be paid).

Expected Hours: This is a wage (hourly) position. Hours expected to vary 10-29 hours per week.

Location: Expected to come into the GENEDGE Richmond office at least twice a week.

In this position, you will get to:

  • Gain practical experience in state, local, and government level marketing

  • Develop a comprehensive skill set in digital marketing, content creation, and social media management

  • Network with professionals in the field and explore potential career paths

  • Receive academic credit (if applicable and approved by your educational institution)

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of digital marketing campaigns

  • Contribute to content creation for our blog, social media channels, and other platforms

  • Support email marketing initiatives, including list management, content creation, and analysis

  • Engage with our community across social media platforms, ensuring a consistent and brand-aligned voice

  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, including data entry, research, and report preparation

  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and implement creative marketing strategies

Minimum Qualifications

Skills and Specifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field or equivalent

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with digital marketing trends and best practices

  • Experience with social media platforms, including Facebook, X (Formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and Instagram

  • Basic understanding of email marketing tools and content management systems

  • Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Willingness to learn and take initiative
