Gelsons Markets is well known for our enticing array of freshly prepared hot food items, gourmet salads and fresh salad bars. Our Gelsons Kitchen staff play an important role in promoting a quality image of the company through department presentation and delivery of excellent products. Our Back of House staff prepare food products according to Gelsons recipes and high-quality standards.
Our chefs are responsible for the safe and timely preparation and presentation of various items including salads, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, dressings, entrees, and catering offerings all following Gelsons recipes and standards. Preparation includes both salad production from scratch as well as finishing previously prepared items, timely preparation of various items including proteins, entrees and side dishes which may include baking, frying, grilling, roasting, or steaming.
Gelsons Kitchen staff must also display a clear understanding of all cooking techniques and terminologies and will monitor food quality to ensure finished items meet Gelsons standards. Some positions will require superior knife skills and a strong working knowledge of food service operations. Following all HAACP program standards is essential in the production of all prepared foods
All staff must possess strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. The ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers and all levels of staff within Gelsons Markets is mandatory.
