About the team:
We are seeking an individual who can work in a fast paced and demanding environment. The candidate must be able to provide superior client service (to external and internal clients), maintain strong attention to detail, and have effective communication skills. The ideal candidate will be flexible and have the ability to manage multiple tasks with changing levels of priority and possess strong organizational skills. It is critical that the candidate be proactive and willing to work closely with the team.
Reviewing and analyzing monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows), management reporting, and budgets including preparation or review of supporting schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Assisting in monthly close process of accounts payable and the general ledger, including compilation of monthly work-papers.
Defining and developing efficient and effective accounting and internal control processes, including development of requirements, projects plans, status reports, etc.
Communicating and coordinating with clients, as well as vendors, bankers, insurance brokers, attorneys as appropriate.
Projections, budgeting and other financial analysis as needed
Responsibilities include overseeing and developing staff as well as review of Accounts Payable, checks, wire transfers, capital calls, and investment transfers.
Overseeing daily cash management and funding requirements
Assisting in managing adherence to policies and procedures for cash management department with a focus on process improvement.
Supervising bookkeepers and junior accountants in the cash management process for high net-worth clients' multiple business entities
Supervising preparation and review of bank reconciliations, daily positive pay transmissions, and monthly cash flow reports.
Streamlining existing processes and capabilities for ultra-high-net worth individuals
Reviewing journal entries for investment activity and other complex transactions.
Reviewing journal entries to record weekly and monthly payroll
Reviewing reports summarizing investment performance and ensure investment activity is recorded as applicable.
Weekly and monthly review of general ledger to ensure accuracy and consistency in coding of accounts payable, payroll, investment activity, etc. including preparation of monthly expense variance analysis.
What you'll offer:
BA or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Tax
8-10 years accounting experience (Supervisor role) working with a variety of clients, preferably in the high net-worth community.
Must possess strong accounting and analytical skills as well as a desire to learn.
We'd love to see:
CFP or CPA or other professional designations
Solid experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Experience with mid-tier accounting software system, including complete understanding of integration various modules (general ledger, accounts payable, purchase order, fixed assets, etc.)
Project management experience
Microsoft Dynamics (FKA Solomon), Management Reporter and Great Plains experience helpful.
Private Foundation or non-profit experience a plus
Team player with ability to deal in a dynamic environment.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with the ability to plan and prioritize within a multi-client environment. Ensure efficient and timely deliverables; adapt quickly to a changing environment.
Familiar with the broad implications of Taxes, Estate Planning, Financial Planning, Investments and other key wealth management issues
The successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial nature.
