Geek Squad Autotech Service Writer

Our Autotech Service Writer will provide friendly, fast, and accurate processing of client transactions in the Mobile Installation Bay. The Autotech Service Writer develops strong relationships with clients by becoming a trusted advisor, partner and helper to make technology more functional in their lives. The Writer also, utilizes all relevant tools to drive profitable growth, exceed department /individual goals while resolving client issues.

Key accountabilities:

  • Engages clients using Best Buy Selling Skills while providing fast and friendly processing of all transaction types per SOP.

  • Builds rapport with clients and answers questions about estimates/invoices and installation completion timeframes, provides client demonstrations.

  • Check In/Out Client vehicles for service.

  • Answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, staging of products for Autotechs and other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a team environment requiring clear, professional and effective communication

  • Prior experience with prioritizing multiple tasks in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 3 months experience in retail or customer service

Business Need / Purpose of Role The Service Technician I safely installs, removes, repairs, assembles, disassembles and tests Wellhead equipment (casing heads, casing spools, tubing heads, valves, etc.) in shop and onshore environments. Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities Including but not limited to: * Install and/or remove equipment * Assemble, disassemble, test and troubleshoot service equipment * Work closely with equipment operators * Responsible for service reports and related documentation * Loading and unloading of material for repair operations * Communicate with Supervisor, Customers, Engineers, Production Control and other shop personnel * Performs other duties as assigned Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or at least six (6) months experience with wellhead equipment repair and maintenance and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, Special Skills: Good operational and maintenance knowledge of Wellhead equipment. Written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts, changing work schedules. Computer & Other Required Skills: Must be established an approved driver, and maintain appropriate driving record, in accordance with DOT guidelines. Must have mechanical and hydraulic aptitude. Ability to operate high pressure torque wrenches, hammer wrench, jib cranes, overhead cranes, forklift and to do rigging work in a safe manner. Must be able to use power tools, hand tools, swing sledge hammer and use measuring devices such as micrometers, tape measure, rulers, scale and pressure gauges with chart recorder.
