The Adult Learning Center is currently seeking qualified applicants for the part-time position of GED Test Examiner. The testing center is open weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as two Saturdays per month. GED Test Examiner generally work 1 or 2 four hour shifts per month, occasionally more.

The Test Examiner is responsible for providing a secure, computer-based exam delivery and superior customer service in a comfortable, friendly environment.

The Test Examiner:

• Performs on-time test center opening and closing procedures

• Understands all testing procedures

• Checks in examinees, verifies identification, and explains the exam process

• Carefully monitors examinees during testing

• Maintains a secure, quiet testing environment

• Communicates with technical support to investigate and correct technical issues when necessary

• Strictly adheres to company policies using careful judgment

• Arrives on time for all scheduled shifts

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Strong communication and customer service skills are a must, delivered with focused attentiveness and moderate interaction

• An understanding of how networked computers communicate as well as the willingness and ability required to troubleshoot and correct technical issues when necessary

• Ability to work cooperatively with, follow direction of, and assist Pearson VUE technical support over the phone as needed

• Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Windows applications, Internet, and email

• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion

• Must be able to work in a quiet, focused environment

• Ability to complete all tasks in a timely and efficient manner, and handle a reasonable amount of stress

Important Note: This position requires that the applicant prepare for and complete a 75-minute, computer based, timed certification exam as a pre-requisite to being hired. Preparation for the exam is computer based, delivered online, and is all self-guided as well as self-paced. Please know that preparing for and completing this exam in an independent manner is consistent with the level of independence and technical competence required of this position. Applicants will receive 2 hours pay for time spent preparing for and taking the exam upon successful certification.

The testing center is open weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as two Saturdays per month. GED Test Administrators generally work one or two four-hour shifts per week, occasionally more.
