Responsibilities:
Teachers will perform a full range of duties, including but not limited to:
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities to promote overall academic and emotional growth of students, reflect the school's vision, mission and charter
Manage a classroom that includes age-appropriate, culturally responsive classroom management practices
Assess and monitor student achievement and growth utilizing school assessment tools
Ensure that all student needs are being met
Utilize state standards to develop classroom curriculum
Engage in meaningful professional development activities
Collaborate and participate in critical relationships with other teachers to develop educational strategies jointly
Demonstrate success working with children from different cultural, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds
Communicate frequently with students, students' families, colleagues, and other stakeholders
Qualifications:
Ideal teacher candidates will possess the following qualifications:
A California multi-subject credential (NCLB requirement)
Teaching experience serving diverse student populations
BCLAD/CLAD certification
Ability to design and implement effective units and lessons
Solid knowledge of subject matter including CA State Standards
Knowledge of effective instructional strategies for ELLs
Exceptional interpersonal communication and writing skills
Must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Willingness to take on additional responsibilities
Bilingual in Korean/Spanish preferred
