Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, chooses and performs routine extraction procedures on market products based on experience to optimize quality of resultant extract. Generates and interprets analytical data for the development of formulae. Compares formulae to extracts and makes adjustments based on olfactive and analytical data with supervision of senior staff. Conducts routine maintenance on GC equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generates and interprets data to develop formulae and interacts with perfumery staff regarding results.

  • Chooses and performs routine extractions of market products based on experience

  • Responsible for maintenance of files records and project documentation.

  • Responsible for routine maintenance of analytical equipment.

  • Helps maintain and supplement analytical databases.

  • Other duties in GC Analytical as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Analytical Chemistry or related field with 3-5 years' experience in Fragrance GC lab OR

  • Associate Degree and 5-7 years related Fragrance experience.

  • Working knowledge of and experience with GCMS and GCFID.

  • Experience with fragrance compositions analysis.

  • Excellent knowledge of fragrance ingredients, essential oils.

  • Ability to perform routine extraction procedures.

  • Basic olfactive knowledge of aroma chemicals.

  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office).

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Possess excellent written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
