The GBSD System Control team is looking for a Systems Engineer to support and manage the MBSE training program for GBSD program. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will be part of the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program (Minuteman III ICBM replacement) development contract. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you'll get to do:

  • Conducts training for MBSE products to onboard new employees to GBSD

  • Stays abreast of latest industry practices and implement them on the program

  • Work with software development teams to develop training materials and tools

  • Advice MBSE training lead on process improvement for program training efforts

  • Advice integrated product teams on best practices for MBSE and tool application

  • Train team members of the program including suppliers and government customers on MBSE

  • Work independently and train across multi-disciplined/multi-site teams to architect, model, simulate, and analyze systems to predict/verify system performance against functional/capability requirements

  • Share lesson learned and best practice from the MBSE Community of Practice (CoP) and other Northrop Grumman sectors

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related technical field

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 Years with Masters;

  • 3 years of systems engineering experience

  • 1 years of experience with Model Based Systems Engineering

  • 1 years of experience with MBSE tools, such as Cameo, Rhapsody, Sparx EA, DOORS, Teamcenter

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with a current active Secret Clearance or above

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience with SysML, UML or other descriptive constructs/tools may be used.-

  • Experience with DoDAF standards and methods

  • Experience with DOORS requirements management

  • Broad technical and MBSE experience, across multiple platforms, and encompassing the entire product development lifecycle

  • In-depth technical expertise in MBSE techniques; requirements management, interface control and verification; trade studies and analysis of alternatives; development of end to end solutions.

  • Experience in all levels of space systems engineering including vehicle level to lower architecture levels

  • Computer programming, modeling and simulation skills, for estimating space vehicle performance

  • Experience with DOORS and requirements/architecture linking

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph within 5 years

This position will be permanently located in Huntsville, AL with some travel to El Segundo, California and Roy, Utah. Travel is expected up to 25% of the time. Essential Functions of the role: A successful candidate in this role will plan and execute integration and test activities for the Guidance Subsystem within the Post Boost Attitude Control Module.
