Gatekeeper-Sales Trainee

JOB SUMMARY: Shadow current Gatekeeper and Inside Sales Team members to learn how to source the required equipment needed to serve the customer of a given area efficiently to meet customer needs and maintain branch viability and to also analyzing customer product needs by learning to understand orders for Surface Wellhead equipment/systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

• Learn how to forecast equipment needs based on customer demand.

• Learn how to maintain appropriate levels of inventory based on customer demand.

• Learn how to load machine jobs for the manufacturing plan

• Learn how to process assembly jobs.

• Observe and learn how to coordinate the logistical movement of equipmen

• Learn how to set safety stock levels correctly.

• Learn how Cactus processes purchase order requests.

• Spend time in the field to acquire wellhead knowledg

• Comply with all safety, health, environmental requirements, policies, and procedures relevant to the position

• Work following the Houston Operating Procedure as it relates to this position.

• Learn how to enter sales orders in Syteline.

• Learn same-day source planning on hook up and/or additional customer requirements.

• Learn the importance of accurate open sales orders (commercial and technical), published customer discounts, or net pricing and that orders do not contain obsolete or invalid part numbers and customer requirements.

• Learn to read and create daily reports and monitor dates according to actual customer requirements using the most recent information available.

• Learn how the team uses substitutions for quoted equipment that is not on hand/inventory and how to Utilize excess or slow-moving inventory within standard operating procedures.

• Learn how to manage and utilize customer property within customer requirements.

• Learn how to communicate changes and/or cancellations to customer requirements and delivery issues to the supply chain and Supervisor.

• Learn how to maintain rig board to allow visibility of current customer requirements by active rig, equipment type, state of preparedness, and expected ship date.

• Learn how to proactively pursue compensation for expediting charges incurred through sales before manufacturing or shipping.

• Participate in regularly scheduled meetings.

• Learn how to ensure and secure adequate and proper backup parts and equipment on service jobs and communicate accurate information to the Service Department.

• Provide input and assistance to other functional areas to improve processes and customer satisfaction levels.

• Keep abreast of new products, specifications, and industry trends, competitor strengths, and weaknesses.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university in a related field.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None required

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Prefer Wellhead equipment knowledge. Specialized computer skills (Syteline), intermediate language skills, basic mathematical skills, and advanced reasoning skills.
