Job Summary
Dominion Energy South Carolina is looking to hire a Gas Technologist to support our Gas Engineering and Construction Group. This position reports to Dominion Energy South Carolina's District Office located in Cayce, South Carolina.
There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, knowledge, skills and abilities. The successful candidate should be knowledgeable of all regulatory requirements, corporate design standards, and operations & maintenance procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
This position provides technical or engineering support in the design and coordination of projects on the natural gas distribution systems and in the completion of project documentation and technical records. Duties and responsibilities may vary based on specific job needs, and include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assists/performs mathematical and analytical calculations
Research and design to provide engineering or technical support to designated area,
Gathers, compiles, reviews and analyzes information and data for use in engineering asks
Develops and implements process improvements
May coordinate and act as a liaison with other departments or outside agencies
Assists/prepares design drawings and documents, under the direction of an engineer as applicable
Creates/maintains reports, system records, and database information.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):
Gas Technologist I:
High School diploma or GED and 4 years of related technical experience, OR
Associates degree or other special certification/degree with at least 0 to 2 years of related technical experience (depending on the type of degree held)
Gas Technologist II:
High School diploma or GED and 8 years of related technical experience, OR
Associates degree or other special certification/degree with at least 4 to 6 years of related technical experience (depending on the type of degree held)
Gas Technologist III:
High School diploma or GED and 12 years of related technical experience, OR
Associates degree or other special certification/degree with at least 8 to 10 years of related technical experience (depending on the type of degree held)
Education Requirements
High School diploma accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or one of the entities recognized by the U. S. Dept. of Education (or GED)
An Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering would be preferred but is not required.
