This position is located in Denver, Colorado and is a member of the Natural Gas Marketing group supporting Rockies production. This position is the manager of the Upstream Operations team. The incumbent will lead a team to manage all upstream operations for Rockies natural gas production. In additional the position is the coordination point for managing the team schedule.
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience preferred, with preference for natural gas commercial/operations experience with an E&P or energy infrastructure company.
Excellent communication skills and must be able to excel in a cooperative and collaborative team environment.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are necessary to effectively work with internal stakeholders such as the gas marketing group, accounting, division orders, operations, and business development as well as to establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as downstream pipelines, operators, and other shippers.
Ability to work in high noise level, open trade floor environment.
Must be available for on-call duty seven days per week, 24 hours per day to handle operational issues and be willing to cross train with other team members to enable vacation and weekend coverage.
Aware of daily deadlines involving the gas nomination process.
Basic understanding of wellhead, pipeline, and facility imbalances.
Basic understanding of wellhead gas balancing agreements.
Familiarity with EMK3 preferred but not required.
Experience with system implementation a plus.
Lead a team to successfully manage gas supply and nominations of equity production gathered on both operated and third party midstream assets.
As a working manager, daily responsibilities will include managing nominations and gas supply for equity production.
Coordinate with Anadarko field operations and midstream personnel, operators, and pipeline personnel on operational issues and drilling activity to ensure continuous and maximized gas flow.
Track wellhead availabilities/imbalances to minimize shipper imbalances for all parties and provide timely estimates of available volumes to downstream schedulers and working interest owners.
Perform daily confirmations, monitor physical flow and track allocations for balancing with downstream pipelines as required.
As acquisitions and divestures occur be prepared to function as a lead and point of contact for marketing operations.
Assist with special projects and other duties as may be assigned.
Mentor and develop both leadership and analytical core competencies in the team members.
Process and coordinate Marketing Election Letters (MELs) and associated marketing arrangements per the established business process guidelines.
Participate in gas balancing issues both in resolution of imbalances and of proactively managing nominations to minimize imbalances.
Manage full implementation and promote use of EMK3 Upstream for 3rd party gathered equity gas.
Promote and support team concept among coworkers
Bachelor's degree required in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
This position may be eligible for relocation.
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10%.
This position is eligible for the 5/40 or 9/80 work schedule.
