Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Garde-Manger Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes. The Garde-Manger Cook plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our kitchen, Azalea Market grab-n-go and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

Preparation of Cold Dishes:

  • Execute the preparation of salads, sandwiches, and other cold dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards for our Azalea Market grab-n-go.

  • Ensure that all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and meet quality standards.

Station Setup and Organization:

  • Set up and organize the Garde-Manger station with all necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to enhance efficiency.

Menu Knowledge:

  • Have a thorough understanding of the menu items related to the cold line and be able to communicate details to kitchen staff and servers.

  • Be able to communicate with Azalea Market grab-n-go Teammates and Garde Manger Chef in regard to cold items and production.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor and uphold quality standards for all cold dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, appearance, and portion size.

  • Address any issues with food quality promptly.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with kitchen staff, Azalea Grab & Go teammates, to coordinate timing and ensure a smooth flow of food preparation.

  • Communicate effectively with team members to meet service requirements.

  • Assist other kitchen staff as needed during peak hours.

Adherence to Safety and Sanitation:

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

  • Properly handle and store food items to prevent contamination.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Garde-Manger or similar role in a kitchen setting.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

  • Creativity and attention to detail in food presentation.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.

  • 2+ years experience

Education and Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Culinary school training or relevant certification is a plus.
