You will join GAOs 2 year Professional Development Program (PDP) for entry-level analysts. The PDP experience includes a combination of on-the-job and classroom training, regular feedback and coaching, and exposure to different projects, issues, and management styles.

Project assignments are based on a combination of GAO's needs and your background and interests. You will placed in various project assignments that provide you with a range of developmental opportunities.


Typical entry-level duties include:

Planning, prioritizing, and/or balancing own work assignments, identifying feasible work management approaches that address required activities and timelines.
Developing, identifying, contributing to, and/or using techniques, tools, and processes that are methodologically sound and targeted to job requirements.

Partnering or collaborating with others to address issues or solve problems; following up with others to ensure needs are met.

BACHELOR'S LEVEL EDUCATION W/SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT (SAA): Applicant has completed a full 4-year course of study from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree and education meets requirements for SAA.
Superior academic achievement (SAA) recognizes individuals who have achieved superior academic standing. S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.

Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.

Grade-point average (G.P.A Applicants must have a grade-point average of: a.3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or .3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.

GRADUATE LEVEL EDUCATION: Applicant has completed a 4-year course of study from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree and has completed at least 1 year of full-time graduate education which will lead to a masters or graduate degree. One full year of graduate education is generally considered 18 semester hours or the number of hours determined by the school attended to represent 1 year of full-time study.

Applicants may also qualify based on a combination of education AND work experience. They can do so if they have graduated with a degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) without superior academic achievement, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate.

ASSOCIATES LEVEL EDUCATION: Applicant has completed 2-years of college education at an accredited institution leading to an Associate's degree. Applicants attempting to qualify for this position based on possession of an Associate's degree must also have 1-year of specialized experience.

BACHELOR'S LEVEL EDUCATION (no Superior Academic Achievement): Applicant has completed a full 4-year course of study from an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree. Applicants attempting to qualify for this position based on possession of a Bachelors degree must also have 1-year of specialized experience.

This is an entry level analyst position in which selected/hired applicants will join the PDP program and rotate among three of the 11 mission teams during their first two years before being placed in one mission team. However, we have a need for a limited number of entry level staff to work only within GAO's Health Care Team while they are in the developmental program.

The successful candidate will provide program analysis and technical support to the planning and execution of missile defense flight tests in accordance with the MDA Integrated Master Test Plan (IMTP). He/she will analyze, deconflict and integrate multiple missions across the ground test and flight test communities. He/she will integrate across all elements of the BMDS to identify test objectives and build comprehensive test plans in accordance with the IMTP. He/she will support all aspects of mission preparation and execution, to include deployment of the Mission Execution Team (MET). What knowledge and skills will help you be a successful Analyst? * Work closely with MDA, Navy, Army, and other DOD civilian and contract personnel across multiple levels to identify, manage, and verify dependencies between facility and system-level requirements to support deployment of BMDS capabilities. * Identify, generate and manage schedules, requirements and other documentation in support of flight test operations. * Provide project planning, engineering, and integration oversight to assist the Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) in the effective planning and management of the Maritime Multi-Tactical Digital Information Link (TADIL) Network (MTN) during flight test planning and execution. * Provide subject matter expertise in administration, operation and configuration management on installed Data Link Hosts to include Air Defense System Integrator (ADSI), Link Monitoring and Management Tool (LMMT), peripheral systems, and associated cryptographic equipment. * Develop, modify and coordinate the System Test Configuration (STC) based on elements inputs and engineering software builds. * Manage and maintain configuration control of supporting materials for senior level reviews and panel discussions. * Provide SME services for systems administration to the Mission Test Directors in support of operations which involve or utilize the LMMT MITM architecture. * Identify, generate and manage schedules, requirements and other documentation in support of flight test operations. * Support test analysis and post-mission reporting in direct support to the Mission Test Director (MTD) and Mission Execution Team (MET) members. * Assist in product development of on-console materials used during Count-Down Events. * Identify and resolve program and stakeholder scheduling issues to meet test execution objectives and overall MDA objectives * Develop and coordinate daily operational schedules in support of on-time/on-readiness mission execution * Deliver and maintain multiple project files and databases and perform stakeholder coordination across multi-disciplinary working groups and integrated teams * Prepare decision-quality materials such as briefings and supporting documentation (white papers, fact sheets, status reports, progress reports, and information papers) for senior level reviews and mission milestone decision meetings.
