TI's High Voltage Power business is searching for a Gallium Nitride (GaN) system and application engineer.
In this exciting role, you will be part of a strong and fast moving team and you will have a chance to:
Develop a deep understanding of the high-voltage (36V-650V) power conversion markets such as server, telecom, solar, grid infrastructure, and automotive
Define and develop cutting-edge GaN devices and power solutions from concept to market release
Interface directly with TI business units and customers to define product roadmaps and specifications
Design and build High Density Power supplies and EVMs using GaN and advanced TI controllers.
Provide technical support to assist customers to design in TI's GaN into high performance power conversion applications. Additional customer support may also come from writing application notes, articles and professional publications, conducting training for customers as well as TI Field
Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field of study
3 years related experience
Experience in power IC, or gate driver product definition & evaluation
Experience in design or modeling of power converter/inverter topologies
Experience in PCB development & high-voltage lab measurement
Strong understanding of analog/mixed-signal IC's and their application
Experience promoting/marketing ICs and driving design wins by providing system solutions
Strong customer facing skills
System level circuit modeling with EDA tools, SPICE, Matlab
Hands-on knowledge of high density power converter and inverter topologies and control methods in power supplies, chargers and/or motor drives
Expertise on modeling and simulation of power converters and/or inverters
Deep understanding of regulatory requirements such as UL and FCC.
Experience in developing Si MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, or GaN power stages
Expertise on circuit schematic and PCB creation
Knowledge on high-voltage packaging
Expertise on operation of high-voltage (2kV) lab equipment: Electronic power supplies and loads, oscilloscopes, function generators
Digital power controller or FPGA experience considered a plus
Strong communication skills to communicate effectively with team members and customers
Ability to perform well in a cross-functional and cross-cultural team environment
