The City of Prescott Recreation Services Department is taking applications for temporary Sports Officials, Scorekeepers and Supervisors for the upcoming seasons. Games are scheduled Monday through Friday.

Game times vary, but could begin as early as 6:00 p.m. with the last game ending as late as 11:00 p.m. Weekend work will also be available for tournaments. Sports include Adult Softball, Adult Basketball and Adult Volleyball.

Scorekeepers: Must attend mandatory training sessions.

Minimum age is 16 years old. Scorekeepers are required to keep the score book, operate the scoreboard and announce the game when necessary. Starting pay for Scorekeepers is $12.00 per game for Softball and Volleyball and $18 per game for basketball.

Officials: Must be NSA Certified for softball.

Certification classes will be offered. Prefer AIA certified for all sports. Officials with previous experience are preferred, but not mandatory.

Must provide own equipment and uniform. Must attend mandatory training sessions. Sports officials earn $21 per game for Softball and Volleyball and $26.25 per game for basketball.

Supervisors: Must have good customer service skills and be familiar with sports rules.

Must attend mandatory training sessions. Supervisors starting pay is $12 per hour.

Physical and Visual Ability: Sufficient to effectively and safely perform required duties and to safely operate required equipment.

Hearing and Speaking Ability: Clearly, concisely and effectively communicate in person and over the telephone.

Successful candidate will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include:

  • Drug screening

  • Motor vehicle records check

  • Criminal background screening
