Your Mission

  • Run field experiments, determine causal inference, model demand, and build simulations of complex in-game economies.

Player Profile

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelors, masters, or PhD program working towards a degree in both economics and applied math (coursework in econometrics and statistics preferred).

  • Fluent in analysis software such as R or Python as well as SQL.

  • Business-savvy/entrepreneurial (we are managing a live revenue stream) and have experience working with big data.

  • Have the ability to apply training to real-world issues with real-world deadlines.

  • Can communicate clearly with non-technical audiences about economic impacts on game design, monetization, user acquisition, and player engagement.

  • A passion for gaming.

POSITION SUMMARY: Aniplex of America Inc. (a subsidiary of Sony Music Japan) is seeking a Mobile Game Localization Production Team Leader to join the team located in Santa Monica, CA. This individual will work on localization of Japanese mobile games to North America). The ideal candidate must be Bilingual (Japanese & English) and has strong skills in reading, writing and communication. The candidate who has a passion for Japanese Anime, games and related culture highly preferred. Responsibilities: * Lead the production team of a mobile game project. Include but not limited to staffing, planning, and scheduling. * Maintain proper communication between AOA and working partners both domestic and international. * Manage the flow of all production materials going in and out of AOA. * Perform quality assurance tasks to make sure all materials are translated correctly. * Create and maintain glossary for all production materials. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in related fields or equivalent skills and knowledge. * A minimum of 3 years of experiences in corporate/office environments. * A minimum of 1 year of video game localization experience (mobile game experience preferred). * Strong understanding of game development cycle and QA process. * Knowledge of international business etiquette and display of professionalism. * Strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality. * Strong comprehension of English required, business level Japanese preferred. (JLPT N1 preferred) * Must have strong writing, reading and communication skills. * Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Be able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure deadline driven environment. * Ability to work independently as well be a part of a team. * Good critical thinker and able to think outside of the box. * A strong enthusiasm for entertainment, including Anime, Japanese pop-culture etc. preferred * All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.
