Gallery Learning School Tour Coordinator (Temporary, Full-Time)
Education & Public Programs
Reporting to Manager, Docents & Tours, The Gallery Learning School Tour Coordinator provides administrative and logistical coordination of the day-to-day school tour operations for K-12 students as part of Gallery Learning. The Gallery Learning Coordinator schedules school tours, interfaces with teachers, and visitors, and coordinates meetings, schedules trainings, and prepares and provides materials for Gallery Educators who deliver tours of special exhibitions and the permanent collection for K-12 visitors.
Responsibilities:
Oversees all logistics related to school tours on-site, schedules school tours and maintains online reservation system.
Provides assistance to K-12 teachers in planning visits to the museum; welcomes engages, and orients students and teachers.
Coordinates the free bus program for school tours, including working with bus companies and teachers
Oversees the scheduling of Gallery Educators for guided school tours, and posts and reviews gallery educator schedules on When I Work
Contributes to the evaluation of the LACMA K-12 school tour program, maintaining statistics on school tours, contributing to the assessment of part-time staff, and documenting compelling evidence to demonstrate programmatic impact.
Maintains supplies, submits purchase order requests, processes invoice requests, and completes work orders, and conducts other administrative duties needed for the K-12 guided tour programs
Communicates regularly with Security, Facilities and Visitor Services about on-site impact of the K-12 guided tour program
Participates in the implementation of the communications and marketing plans for the K-12 guided tour program, including updating information on the School and University Visits web page
Collaborates with Gallery Learning staff to develop supplemental materials (including documents, presentations, and more) and works with the Manager, Docents & Tours, to develop necessary support materials for the guided School Tour program
Works with the Director of Gallery Learning and the Manager, Docents & Tours to arrange, support and facilitate tour-related meetings and training sessions for Gallery Educators.
Works with the Director of Gallery Learning and the Manager, Docents & Tours on the overall scope of the tour program
Other duties as assigned within LACMA's Education and Public Programs department.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Art History, Art Administration, or Art Education or related field
Strong, effective, and demonstrable written and oral communications, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
Be knowledgeable of the latest trends in informal educational practice. Familiarity with object-based teaching and best practices for K-12 audiences.
At least 2 years of experience working in studio arts or museum education. Experience managing programs for students and working with school administrators and classroom teachers preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Google Suite and MS Office.

Prioritize and successfully organize multiple activities effectively under minimal supervision.
