POSITION OVERVIEW:
ProTrain is currently recruiting for an experienced in-classroom instructor with experience teaching GAF Roofing Professional courses.
Candidates must have experience teaching in a classroom or/and in a synchronous environment, as well as have a minimum of 3 years in the Roofing industry. Not a required element but an ideal candidate would be a Veteran, who would be able to recruit and communicate with student leads, as well as installation Career Skills Program (CSP) officials about the GAF Roofing Academy; and how it can be a great transition career for Soldiers when they leave active Service.
This is a full time; contracted administrative/sales and teaching position. Future classes will be available to the right candidate.
The Roofing Professional Program prepares students for employment in the Contractor Trades industry. Throughout the theory-based lectures and hands-on installation labs, students will gain the knowledge necessary for roofing applications. Included are in-depth overviews of the necessary processes for preparing a roof, installing systems, and analyzing roof problems. The programs curriculum satisfies the requirements needed to obtain employment and/or career advancement. The course also includes an online OSHA-10 certification component.
Course Location: Near Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA
Actual Teaching Course Day/Times: 4 days a week 7-4 PM
Rest of time is spent going to events and recruiting students
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
In-classroom instructor
Recruit/advice potential students in this featured CSP
Prepare students in the following roofing skills:
OSHA 10 Certification
Comprehension of Roofing Systems
Mastery of Tools and Safety
Material Planning and Ordering
Understanding how to prepare the Roof
Applied Installing Shingles
Applied Installing Flashing Systems
Understand Ventilation
Create Low Slope Roofs
Analyzing Roof Problems
Understanding Job Wrap Up
Creating Roofing Proposals and Sales
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3-5 years teaching experience
Teaching - an industry certification preferred
Minimum 3 years in related field of study (Roofing or Construction industry)
Must adhere to a weekly class schedule
