Position Objective

Delivers in-resident and distance learning instructional programs in accordance with course requirements. Uses instructional methods such as, guided discussions, lectures, demonstrations, small group exercises, seminars, workshops, and laboratories. Uses Instructional technology, including but not limited to Blackboard. Conducts assessment strategy in accordance with the course design, including instructor observation, testing, and grading.

TPGS is seeking dynamic individuals to join a professional cadre of Geospatial Instructors. Candidates should have subject matter expertise (SME) and instruction/training experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) / Geospatial Analysis (GA)

  • Imagery Analysis

  • Collection Management

  • Critical Thinking and/or Structured Analytic Techniques

  • Intelligence Writing and Briefing

  • Sensors / Phenomenology (OPIR, Lidar, Thermal Infrared, Moving Target Indicator (MTI), Multi/Hyper Spectral Imagery (MSI/HSI), Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Full Motion Video (FMV)

  • Activity Based Intelligence (ABI)

  • Human Geography

  • GEOINT Cyber Analysis

Duties and Responsibilities

Qualified candidates will deliver in-resident and distance learning instructional programs in accordance with course requirements. Use instructional methods such as, guided discussions, lectures, demonstrations, small group exercises, seminars, workshops, and laboratories. Use Instructional technology, including but not limited to Blackboard. Conducts assessment strategy in accordance with the course design, including instructor observation, testing, and grading. Provide formal and informal student feedback. Provide subject matter expertise throughout the curriculum creation process, including content review and feedback to development staff. Relevant instructional experience includes, but is not limited to, experience developing and delivering technical training and educational courses in academic, commercial, government, or industrial organizations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience delivering formal, classroom (podium) driven instruction

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in relevant work

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in creating presentations, briefings, and geospatial products for demonstration purposes.

  • Experience with the testing, development of curriculum, creating presentation and briefings, and evaluation of new equipment/systems.

  • Experience with training in a military or Intelligence Community environment.

  • Experience in creating presentations, briefings, and geospatial products for demonstration purposes and Imagery Analyst knowledge.

  • Experience with the testing, development of curriculum, creating presentation and briefings, and evaluation of new equipment/systems.

  • Experience with GIS Python Scripting.

  • Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) as well as knowledge in the development and implementation of course materials, and how to make those course materials ISD compliant.

  • Experience with training in a military or Intelligence Community environment.

Basic Qualifications: * Experience as a GEONT and GIS instructor or training, including acquiring, analyzing, and disseminating maritime safety information to populate and update nautical databases, charts, and publication * Experience in the government operating environment, including the IC or DoD * Knowledge of DoD obligations, federal and international laws, regulations, and national security * Knowledge of the application of GIS and analysis of geospatial data to solve intelligence problems that may face the DoD or intelligence community (IC) * Knowledge of GEOINT tradecraft, learning and instruction, and maritime analysis * Ability to travel up to 50% of the time * Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam * BA or BS degree and 5 years of experience with instruction, science, or technology, MA or MS degree and 3 years of experience with instruction, science, and technology, or 20 years of experience with instruction, science, or technology in lieu of a degree Additional Qualifications: * Experience as an in-resident and distance learning instructor for a US government agency * MA or MS degree in Science, Mathematics, or Statistical Analysis * Course instruction or teaching certification Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
