Position Duties and Responsibilities
Performs duties necessary to ensure exceptional student service and assists with a diverse range of administrative support services.
Serve as a receptionist in the Academic Support Center and/or Writing Center, greeting students and faculty in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner. Ensure that students check in and out on the Accutrack scanners; assist them in using the scanners as needed.
Answer phones promptly and professionally. Assist students with basic questions about saving and printing assignments and papers, using Blackboard to access assignment sheets, and using Microsoft office programs. Perform office tasks such as filing, word processing, making copies, and posting flyers on campus.
Currently enrolled student with a High School diploma or equivalent, and over three (3) months of relevant full-time experience, or any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Preference will be given to full-time students.
A registered St. Louis Community College student prior to applying for a student worker position.
Maintain student status and a minimum 2.5 GPA during employment. Must be able to work in an office setting, including using basic Microsoft Office programs.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to help diverse learners feel comfortable and welcome in the Academic Support Center. Practices professional behavior, including phone etiquette, punctuality, and appropriate demeanor.
Possesses working knowledge of computers, Blackboard, and basic Microsoft Office programs such as Word. Work Study eligibility is a plus.
