Position Summary:

Supports the execution of the Compliance Management System (CMS) by engaging with the business leaders to understand strategy and direction and independently advising those leaders on how to deliver production volume while effectively managing compliance risk. Identifies, escalates and mitigates compliance risks. Provides timely advice regarding regulatory requirements and expectations, and the implementation of controls to effectively mitigate compliance risk. Provides support for the delivery of all content (policies, procedures, job aids, letters, forms, marketing materials, etc.) associated with Constructive Loans. Ensures appropriate representation and adherence to all commercial origination regulations and investor requirements. Assists with the communication of all content changes throughout Constructive Loans.


  • Four-year college degree (or equivalent)

  • 4+ years of working knowledge in Mortgage Loan Originations and Compliance is required

  • Demonstrated knowledge of laws, rules and regulations applicable to commercial originations

  • Demonstrated knowledge of laws, rules and regulations applicable to operating an insurance agency preferred

  • Experience in an operational role in the mortgage or commercial lending industry preferred

  • Ability to read and understand regulatory content

  • Able to translate complex information into easy-to-understand, simple language

  • Superior composition and editing abilities

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization

  • Ability to prioritize numerous tasks and manage shifting priorities; strong planning and organizational skills; ability to meet established deadlines

  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and provide leadership for working groups

  • Proficient use of the internet and computer applications with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)

  • Prior experience with Encompass, Calyx and/ or Liquid Logics systems preferred.

Essential Functions &

  • Independently assess existing and emerging compliance risks and risks associated with regulatory and business changes.

  • Advise and direct business leaders to ensure regulatory requirements are addressed in their respective procedures and controls so their daily activities operate in a compliant manner.

  • Conduct, at least quarterly, the edit check process for the company's required HMDA reporting and ensure the data is error free prior to the annual filing deadline of March 1. Prepare, scrub and submit annual LAR.

  • Assist line employees in executing existing and new regulatory and investor requirements on a day-to-day basis.

  • Assist in the review and approval of new products or processes.

  • Oversee Constructive Companies' compliance with privacy and information security policy/plan/program to minimize the risk that customer and company data is compromised.

  • Identify, report and escalate compliance risks, issues and control enhancements needed to mitigate risk

  • Identify compliance training needs and provide subject matter expertise to support development of training curriculum.

  • Independently create and edit policy, procedure and job aid content to ensure they reflect regulatory requirements

  • Independently create and edit customer communications, letters and forms as directed.

  • Ensure that all marketing materials, collateral and content are compliant with all regulations and limit residual risk.

  • Proactively inform management about project status, issues, or concerns.

  • Partner with business leaders and SMEs to ensure that all content is appropriately defined and documented.

  • Work with business leaders to ensure policies have been established for all processes and all departments as assigned

  • Appropriately manage the submission and approval of assigned content through the Governance process.

  • Conducts regular and periodic reviews of existing documentation to ensure compliance with current regulations and consistent with current practices as directed.

  • Conducts compliance risk assessments

  • Other duties as assigned
