All of our positions require the below qualifications. Some positions have additional requirements. Please review the job requirements for any roles you apply to as they may be different:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.

  • Must be able to work alone in the store for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, in both verbally and in written form.

  • Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work in the United States if hired.

  • Ability to work varying shifts, including overnight shifts and holidays. Physical abilities necessary:

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for an at least 8 hours.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds from ground to overhead up to 30 minutes of workday.

  • Ability to occasionally push and pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (i.e., utilizing a hand-truck).

  • Ability to occasionally climb a ladder to store or retrieve materials, and/or place or remove signage.

  • Capable of working in small spaces at times.

As a Region Market Development Intern, you will work closely with senior sales professionals and relationship managers in the pursuit of new clients, in ensuring cross line of business communication is ongoing, and that market capabilities promotional pieces are updated and ready for client presentation. A Market Development Intern can expect to: * Develop an awareness of Mercer's consulting expertise and client development methods. * Conduct research on client companies using external published sources and Mercer internal information. * Assist senior consultants to review client needs and coordinate with line of business consultants on issues and action plans. * Partner with sales professionals on the pursuit of prospects by conducting research on business/HR issues; establishing contacts, overseeing mailings, letters, capturing opportunity – following internal processes. Assisting with meeting preparation, facilitation and follow-up items as well as finding line of business resources when needed. * Help write and structure client communications, including proposals, reports, spreadsheets and presentations. * Support Mercer's sales process by ensuring cross line of business communication is ongoing, keeping activities log up-to-date, and ensuring that the client relationship management system is updated with all new opportunities and activities. * Support Relationship Managers and Office Leaders by developing marketing plans and external client marketing events for the office. * Provide support to the Market leadership in executing CRM tasks, data management, initiative tracking and research support utilizing SalesForce. Qualified candidates for a Region Market Development Intern position will have: * Progress towards a bachelor's degree in business, management, marketing or other business-related areas. * Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0. * Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. * Strong project management skills. * Proficiency using Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint. * Ability to work independently or in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands. * Strong business acumen paired with intellectual curiosity.
