  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.

  • Must be able to work alone in the store for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, in both verbally and in written form.

  • Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work in the United States if hired.

  • Ability to work varying shifts, including overnight shifts and holidays. Physical abilities necessary:

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for an at least 8 hours.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to overhead up to 30 minutes of workday.

  • Ability to occasionally push and pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (i.e., utilizing a hand-truck).

  • Ability to occasionally climb a ladder to store or retrieve materials, and/or place or remove signage.

  • Capable of working in small spaces at times.

Overview NVA is looking for a Business Operations Associate to support the rapidly growing General Practice organization in Canada. Under the direction of the Director of Divisional Operations – Canada and based either in the support center in Agoura Hills, California or remotely in Canada, the Business Operations Associate will own various aspects of Canadian pre and post deal closing including administration/coordination, reporting, planning and analysis for our rapidly growing business in Canada. This role will also be responsible for partnering with field operators on ad-hoc projects to support Canadian GP Operations and is a great opportunity for a driven and ambitious individual to expand the scope of the role over time. This role will drive process efficiency and service excellence by being responsible for multiple cross-functional streams of work, identification and resolution of deal closing issues and mitigation of risks where they pose a significant risk to success. You will touch many different aspects of the business in this role providing in-depth exposure to key functions in the team allowing deep insight to make process improvement recommendations.ResponsibilitiesAs a subject-matter expert, serve as key contributor to the development of NVA's Canadian deal closing process, with responsibility for defining efficient workflows and specifications to meet current and future organizational needs.Drive and execute key activities within the transition phase by collaborating with both internal and external cross-functional stakeholders including Legal, Taxation, Accounting, Finance, and People and Talent Services to streamline internal processes, incorporating automation wherever possible and fostering efficiency, consistency, and integrity of process outputs.Track progress of deal closing documentation and other components in the transition process, following up, as necessary, to ensure that critical information from NVA's FDD team, deal managers, sellers and brokers, and bankers regarding incomplete or missing information is provided in a timely manner Work with US and Canadian banking partners to coordinate and own the banking due diligence process to facilitate new bank account opening in a timely mannerOwning, evaluating and supporting analysis of all federal and provincially required regulatory requirements for deal closure including but not limited to multi-jurisdictional business and equipment licensing, provincially specific ministerial tax filings (i.e. GST/HST/PST, Employer Health Tax - Ontario) and all federal and provincial business entity registration (i.e. Federal tax IDs, and Payroll tax IDs)Liaises with internal Benefits/Payroll Administration team to ensure all benefits and pay related elements are accurately transitioned, captured, and input into NVA's payroll platform Ensure that information sharing between all key stakeholders during transition is timely and high qualityAudit deal closing documentation for accuracy and compliance.Develop, own and execute deal closing playbook for transitioning Canadian sites and involved NVA departments for a successful transition of all business critical systems, and processes including documentation/regulatory filings to ensure minimal business disruption.
