Job Responsibilities:

  • Create forecast for merchant discount rate (American Express' largest revenue driver) and track monthly performance against forecast and identify drivers of variance.

  • Perform data analysis to evaluate discount rate trends and uncover insights.

  • Create merchant discount rate scorecards for the regions.

  • Drive standardization and process improvement among the different regional teams for all reporting and forecasting related activities.

  • Support external audits including researching issues found, contacting the regional business teams that manage the merchant relationship to discuss issues and working through resolution.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years' experience in financial services, payments industry, or other finance related roles is desired.

  • Bachelor's degree in required; Finance/Accounting/Business desired.

  • MBA/Graduate degree is a plus.

  • High proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is required.

  • Strong attention to detail is required.

  • Strong aptitude for analytics; demonstrated ability to develop sophisticated financial models and draw value-added insights from large amounts of financial data.

  • Strong relationship management and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be different goals.

  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral - with experience leading discussions with senior leaders where decisions need to be made based on the facts presented.

  • Strong work ethic with an intense will-to-win, ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, which places a premium on driving results.

  • Creative thinker who is willing to question traditional ways of doing things and develop new approaches to old challenges.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize accordingly.

  • Capacity to remain calm and flexible under pressure.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
