The Furniture Handler works to ensure our customers receive a pleasant and efficient experience when they receive or pick up a furniture order at buybuyBABY.
The Furniture Handler Associate performs a wide variety of duties both on and off of the sales floor
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 25-30 hours per week, over 4-5 days. This position is physically intensive, and requires heavy lifting and fast paced work.
Prepares Furniture Orders for customer pick-ups and deliveries
Assists customers in getting their purchases situated in their vehicles
Engage customers in a courteous, helpful, and respectful manner; promptly and politely responds to customer inquiries, and customer requests for support
Escalates customer issues to senior team members
Utilizes computer programs to input and update customer orders, follows established customer order reconciliation processes
Transports merchandise from the stockroom onto the sales floor for product display or customer pick-up
Offloading and loading of furniture on trailers, into bins and within floor locations.
Assists with backroom organization by removing and replacing product, fixtures, and other equipment in a safe and organized manner
Handles equipment needed to assist in moving product, i.e. pallet jacks, furniture lifts, dollies, etc.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and exhibits safe work practices at all times
Readily adjusts schedule, tasks, and priorities when necessary to meet business fluctuations
Performs additional duties as required including, but not limited to, stocking, freight processing, price changes, cart retrieval, break room and restroom housekeeping
Accurately completes assigned tasks using prescribed guidelines under direct supervision
Demonstrates commitment to the organization by maintaining regular, on site attendance, is reliable and follows through with responsibilities
