Contract as a Furniture Assembly Technician with SPAR!

Project Description:

Opportunity is part-time, on-going Assembly work for both in-store (Nationwide Office supply chain) and in-home furniture assembly. As an Independent Contractor with SPAR Field Services, Inc. you will be assembling RTA Furniture, Gas Grills, Exercise Equipment and Display Racks.

Things you should know:

  • Merchandising and/or commercial furniture assembly experience

  • Ability to assemble products according to client's written instructions

  • Able to read plan-o-grams and perform customized category resets independently

  • Able to carry and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Able to bend and stand for extended periods

  • Internet access & active email address

  • Report client work completions on the same day as service

  • Reliable transportation, some travel involved

  • Have own tools

Responsibilities for this Position General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Production Operator. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: Performs project tasks/assignments of a more complex nature ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables Reading and interpreting basic schematics and drawings Follows methods, techniques, and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, & cable harnessing on subassemblies and units Integrates sub-assemblies into final hardware Performs final assembly of small systems Performs basic electrical tests Performs more complex rework and refurbishment of hardware and systems May count and sort various product items, placing labels on packages, put manuals into binders, and form or break down boxes for the final product May conduct manufacturing inspections on processing line in accordance to quality specifications May be involved in packing, movement and protection of finished product May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions Performs general fabrication and marking Operates less complex equipment Performs basic loading and configuring of customer/standard software on customer device Performs basic inspection per documentation Accurately completes process paperwork and entering data into the applicable work order management system Performs mixing of solvents and paints per specification Supports continuous improvement activities and participates in problem solving activities Maintains a clean and orderly work area Supports safety/housekeeping standards Contacts are primarily within immediate work unit and direct supervisor Normally follows established procedures on routine work with limited supervision, requires detailed instructions only on new assignments KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Clear manufacturing process skills Clear knowledge of polarity and inspection criteria Clear knowledge of Bills of Material (BOM) Clear knowledge of applicable work order tracking Management systems Clear communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work in team environment Clear computer skills Clear knowledge of measuring equipment and math Ability to use various computer software applications to analyze and manage data Ability to interpret basic documents, work instruction, and schematics Ability to exhibit adaptability/flexibility Ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds This is a 2nd shift position Company Overview General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) engineers a diverse portfolio of high technology solutions, products and services that enable customers to successfully execute missions across all domains of operation.
