Our core technologies are glass-to-metal and ceramic-to-metal sealing, thermal sensing components as well as a variety of cutting edge specialty glass competences.

  • Execute electrical and mechanical work in support of new and existing production equipment, supervise and support contractor work as needed, maintenance and continuous improvement of furnaces used in glass to metal sealing

  • Execute production equipment preventative maintenance, work with engineering to improve PM process

  • Review planned work for new equipment installation and major equipment repair

  • Execute emergency corrective repair and document equipment failures with engineering

  • Support on-site specialized contractor work on production equipment

  • Maintain production equipment history through work orders and change control documentation

  • Assist Process Engineering and Operations in long term facilities planning

  • Assist warehouse with site spare parts storage and categorization

  • Owner and Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Furnace and Furnace Processes

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Adhere to all company safety equipment requirements at all times within all production areas, including required PPE for each department; Safety glasses and safety shoes must be worn at all times within all production areas, NO EXCEPTIONS

  • Adhere to EHS, Right to Know and RECRA requirements

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Training:

  • Vocational degree or equivalent experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 Years of direct mechanical and electrical repair of production equipment

Additional Knowledge Requirements:

  • Ability to troubleshoot facility wiring, motor controls, process equipment and general mechanical equipment maintenance

  • General knowledge of good facility maintenance practices

  • Ability to follow work instructions and equipment repair manuals

  • Knowledge of furnaces used in industrial production a bonus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-Motivated and results driven

  • Maintenance Software CMMS

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Knowledge of manufacturing production equipment electrical requirements

Design and improve manufacturing methods and processes; Manage work of manufacturing engineering team: engineers, interns and technicians. Process Engineering * Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, and assembly methods. * Optimizes processes and equipment utilization, focus on lean manufacturing. * Monitors and improves product quality and productivity (OEE). * Troubleshoots process issues. * Implements process improvements that reduce costs, improve yields and enhances the overall efficiency of the process. Design Engineering * Works with Design Engineering team to take concept to manufacturing production completion. * Determines feasibility of designs considering costs, time limitations, planning, and other technical and economic factors from manufacturability standpoint. * Conducts engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures. * Designs and tests tools and fixtures for manufacturing and quality. * Develops and designs internal prints and documents. * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Degree in Ceramic and Glass Science or Metalurgy/Materials Science a plus. * Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing environment, preferably with glass-to-metal-seal, defense products. * Project management, quality system and lean manufacturing knowledge. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Experience with problem solving in a production environment is required. * Must be a self-starter with a hands-on approach and the capability to work independently as well as in a team.
