Fund and Investment Analyst

Techstars is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fund & Investment Analyst to join our growing team of investment professionals. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our fund and investment strategy by providing in-depth research, analysis, and data-driven insights.

As an integral member of the Techstars Capital Team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of data tools and processes that inform investment decision-making on a global scale. We are looking for someone with a passion for data analytics, a strong analytical mindset, and a keen interest in venture capital and entrepreneurship.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Data Analysis and Research: Conduct thorough research and analysis on fund and investment data, contributing to the development of actionable insights and recommendations.

• Data Management: Take ownership of the collection, aggregation, and organization of fund and investment data, ensuring data quality and accuracy.

• Modeling and Reporting: Support the development and maintenance of models, dashboards, and metrics related to fund performance, investment outcomes, and portfolio analysis.

• Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor landscapes, providing valuable insights to inform investment strategies.

• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Business Intelligence team and cross-functional partners to gather requirements, analyze data, and communicate findings effectively.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree, in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics, finance, mathematics, or economics or equivalent work experience.

• 3-5 years of work experience in a data-driven investment analyst, research, or financial analysis role.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.

• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including intermediate to advanced functions. Familiarity with Python analytics libraries (numpy, pandas, etc), SQL and Tableau (or similar data visualization tools) is strongly preferred.

Required Skills, Abilities & Values:

• A solid understanding of fund and investment concepts, with an experience interest in venture capital, private equity, or investment banking. is preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.

• A strong desire to learn and develop expertise in data analytics, investment research, and the venture capital industry.

• Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Passion for entrepreneurship and a desire to contribute to Techstars' mission.

Compensation: $120,000 - $135,00 with 10% bonus
