EVENING SHIFT 3:30PM-12:OOAM WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR OCCASIONAL TIME WITH DAY SHIFT STAFF
Establish close teamwork with other departments including day shift and maintain good engagement with full staff. Oversight of full facility during evening shift, including security, overall workflow as needed, etc.
Functional Trainers teach trainees how to accurately and safely perform department work assignments.
Provide trainees with job instructions, performance feedback (both positive and negative) and support throughout the trainee's learning curve enabling trainees to become successful independent employees
Position continues to perform its normal direct and indirect duties when not performing training duties
Performs on-the-job training throughout the trainee's learning curve timeline, teaching the trainee how to complete departmental work tasks per Best Practices and safety policies.
Completes weekly skills audits of trainee during the learning curve, providing the results to both the trainee and the department Supervisor.
Communicates tips and work methods to the trainee to increase efficiency and accuracy
Provides trainee with positive support and constructive criticism during the learning process
Informs Training department and department Supervisor immediately of trainee performance or behavior problems
Participates in Training department activities, such as train-the-trainer instructional classes
Completes all Functional Trainer tasks, while continuing to perform production work when not assigned to training duties
Acts as Baker and Taylor's ambassador, promoting the benefits of working here to the trainee
Performs the normal direct or indirect duties when not performing the training function
Other duties as assigned
Functional trainers must know and exhibit the specific skills and procedures of the department and the position for which the trainer is needed. One such factor is a proficiency shown by the ability to meet or exceed minimum production and quality requirements of the position
Multitasking -uses time management skills to complete both training and production duties
Must be able to perform all the specific physical demands of the job assignment they are teaching
Speak confidently while also perform job functions, explaining the work steps to the trainee as they complete them
Required to walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear
