The functional business analyst supports offices within Academic Affairs/Programs in data analysis and visualization, needs assessment, systems support, and budget operations.
Qualifications
BS degree in STEM required.
MS degree in STEM preferred.
Advanced skills in Excel and Tableau required.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft and Hyperion is desired.

Responsibilities
Work with the Center for Fellowship and Scholarship Advising (CFSA), Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS), Institutional Effectiveness (IE), Retention and Student Success, and Syracuse Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Engagement (SOURCE) to analyze data related to operations (student information, utilization, and budgetary), internal and external fellowships/scholarships, undergraduate research activity, retention, university-wide learning goals, and student initiatives.
Develop dashboards and reports via Tableau to provide unit leadership with information, data, and visualizations to aid in decision-making.
Develop guides and resources to support unit leadership in understanding gaps, impact of data, trends, etc.
Support unit software, systems (Airtable, Formstack, Guardian, Orange Success, Penji, Zapier, and other University data systems as needed) and websites (Beaver Builder and Word Press), cross train and provide technical back up for units.
Create guides and resources for academic programs to examine equity gaps in student achievement data. This work supports the university's accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
Assure efficient entry of assessment and student data, troubleshoot issues, analyze usage and collected data, and produce reports for decision-making.
Accountable for identification, documentation, and escalation of risks, defects and issues throughout a project life cycle.
Collaborate with University I.T. software developers when needed.
