Functional Analyst, Non ERP Operations

You will be helping to create business blueprints, contributing to the delivery of Information Systems services, responsible to perform various ABB business analyses to support decisions regarding Information Systems (IS) solutions, creates/assists the appropriate Business Blueprint; functionally define solutions fulfilling customer requirements leveraging best practices. The IS Functional Analyst Lead is responsible for providing daily supervision of a staff to understand the business' needs and identify how best to meet them from a business and functional requirements perspective. This includes working with the business and the technology areas to elicit, interpret, analyze and document system requirements. This role will also require the ability to work with management to assess the business analysis maturity of the team and the organization and coach the team to higher levels of maturity while establishing process standards at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the company. Reporting to the Non-ERP Domain Delivery Manager
Collaborates with Domain Delivery Manager, Business Process Specialist, IS Business Engagement Manager, IS Service Managers and IS Application Owner to estimate the effort for IS solution/services development, change requests and releases.
Acts as a decision maker for local distinct processes and use cases that impact the Business, collaborating regularly with domain deliver managers in specific domain to shape strategy and ensure alignment with global process and technology-based direction.
In conjunction with the Domain Delivery Manager, aligns sprints with stated priorities and technical dependencies. Plans, organizes, and directs the day-to-day operations of a team of Functional Analysts. Maintains a view of upcoming demand within the services in scope. Helps as needed with product backlog grooming and maintenance for next sprint. Performs resource capacity planning, velocity measurement, and stabilizes resources. Lock sprints based on team's commitment and protects the team from distractions. Plans and coordinates IAT and UAT activities
Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the relevant area of responsibility, contributing technical and business process/data expertise to either support ongoing operations or develop new software.
Keeps up-to-date and informed of ABB IS Enterprise Architecture and ABB IS Strategy planned or ad-hoc changes. Stays abreast of any incident, change or project which has or might have a major impact on the relevant part of the service.
Engineering encompass all aspects of business related product and service customization for customer needs using knowledge-based and rules-driven models and tools to formulate a complete product or service design. Understand various types of product models, including catalog-based make-to-stock, fixed assemble-to-order configurable and style-based products and engineer-to-order unique customizable products often with integration to up and down stream engineering and ERP systems.
Manufacturing encompasses all aspects of business related front-end processes, including but not limited to engineering, production planning, quality, warehousing and inventory management, order entry, customer service, delivery, warranty and aftermarket sales and service. Works with Business Engagement Managers and Business Process owners to understand business requirements.
Degree in information management, computer systems, business engineering or similar and minimum 12 years of IS experience in defined technologies and within relevant IS domain.
Superior experience in translating business requirements into IS capabilities and solutions.
Superior experience in objectively evaluating IS solutions and making recommendations.
Excellent analytical skills and a deep understanding of the overall context of business processes and IS technologies.
Excellent experience in leading IS people who do not report directly.
Excellent experience in project planning and execution as well as understanding or anticipating the economic aspects of system management and life cycle.
Solid experience of identifying and resolving issues between team members or other teams.
Basic technical skills and applied knowledge in the following areas: Web solutions and web-based applications, Microsoft.Net technologies (.NET, ASP.NET, WinForms, Windows services), Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) and SQL Server Reporting Services, Microsoft Office tools (including Visio, Excel, PowerPiovt, SharePoint), UML and Use Case Modeling, Process and Data Modeling.
Minimum 10+ years of functional analysis on web-based and/or ERP-centric applications is preferred.
Strong technical skills and applied knowledge in the following areas: SAP PP module.
SAP Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on the business needs.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
