Job Description:

This is a full-time position for a Fully Qualified Infant Teacher. Monday through Friday, 8 hours with a one 45-minute unpaid lunch.

We are seeking reliable, flexible, and nurturing teachers who have a passion and love for working with infants ages 6 weeks to 24 months.

Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, communicate effectively, and have infinite patience and a calm-centered personality. You must demonstrate good judgment in the care of small children and encourage social and emotional development by using positive discipline strategies. Teachers working with this age group provide care to infants and a safe environment that encourages initiative, independence, and self-reliance while communicating positively with children, other staff members, and parents.

Benefits & Scheduling:

  • $24-$27/hour – Teachers (paid bi-weekly)
  • 8-hour shift
  • 5-day work week (40 hours)
  • A minimum of 2 paid 15-minute breaks during your shift and 1 unpaid 45-minute meal break

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must pass a TB/Health screening
  • Must have 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education
  • Must have 3 semester units of ECE directly related to the care of infants
  • Montessori Certification is a plus and will be compensated accordingly!

Job description

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related discipline is recommended
  • Must complete 15 hours of health and safety training.
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR certification within one year of hire
  • Must be able to lift and carry small children, bend, squat, kneel, sit, and stand throughout the day, to be at the child’s eye level when interacting
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have good oral, reading, written/communication skills in English

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Attend to the child’s basic needs of feeding, diapering, cleaning, assisting in naptime routines, and nurturing small children
  • Provide a safe, clean, warm, and inviting environment that encourages gross and fine motor development and inspires creativity and discovery
  • Keep up-to-date records of children's development, routines, and interests
  • Clean and sanitize rooms, and materials used by children
  • Work together with other teachers to implement lesson plans based on specific age group development
  • Provides educational and recreational activities for growth and development
  • Models expected classroom behaviors
  • Is culturally sensitive and knowledgeable
  • Is an excellent observer
  • Provides proper supervision to children when on playground or outings
  • Must be able to develop relationships with a variety of people including students, parents, teachers, and administrators
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with children, parents, and the support staff to provide exceptional care for the well-being and nurturing of the whole child
