Security Officer

HSS is currently looking for Security Officers to serve our posts at major healthcare facilities. Our healthcare Security Officers are responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the hospital, its staff, and its patients and visitors -- and serve as a visible deterrent to illegal activities on hospital property. Our Security Officers also provide supervision for at-risk patients in the hospital environment.

Required Qualifications of the Security Officer:

  • Completed High School Diploma or GED

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certifications

  • Strong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for an entire work shift, move or lift objects up to 80 lbs., help restrain or lift a person

Desired Qualification of the Security Officer:

  • Previous work experience with the public in a service setting

The address is 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093. Salary: min $13.19 – max $19.83, based on relevant work experience. Schedule Full Time; 36 hours per week Day Shift; 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Rotating weekends and holidays. * Performs technical skills that are adapted to reflect the age-specific, developmental and diversity needs of the patient. * Position requires a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices and ability to function in a fast paced, changing environment. * Performs all tasks to meet the needs of physicians, staff, patient, and other customers * Interactions include consideration for patient population specific needs * Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks * Uses CPM philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, physicians, peers and all other disciplines * Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in schedule and/or workload assignment necessary to meet changing needs of the individual patient or unit * Makes new team members feel welcome and offers assistance with orientation of new employees * Acceptable use of interpersonal relationship skills and communication with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, all disciplines and other customers * Organizes workload and effectively collaborates with nursing to prioritize care * Serves as a patient advocate * Assists with documentation that supports and meets hospital and regulatory requirements * Complies with personnel policies i.e. Attendance, ID badge, Dress Code, et. al. * Communicates per department expectations * Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve them Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: * H.S.
