Epic Games is adding a Senior Fullstack Web Engineer to work across the stack with a focus on Epic's customer-facing websites including Fortnite.com in addition to developing services that provide data to the game client. You'll work with Epic teams around the world to further develop and maintain a responsive front end and user-centered experiences. Our web team is more than just marketing websites - our engineers build applications and tools that support many of the teams at Epic. We use a wide range of technologies based on the application and need - such as React+Node for in-house frontend applications, NGINX/Jetty/Apache web servers to name a few. Whether it's a tool used by customer service to assist gamers or a web-based companion application for a game, at Epic you'll have opportunities to make an impact in many areas across the company.
Ensure the utilization of latest web technology to build user-friendly high-performance web applications, both on the front-end and back-end
Design, review, and oversee the implementation of Epic's web framework to all consumer-facing websites and applications
Performance improvement and security hardening of web applications and infrastructure
Providing input for production/live release control process
Communicate technical risks across the group
The ideal candidate will have a mix of the qualifications below: Passion for building and maintaining consumer-facing web applications that are secure, scalable, and highly available
Experience architecting and leading innovative web projects leveraging modern web development best practices
Knowledge in functional programming is a big asset
Experience with jQuery and Bootstrap
Experience with database systems, both relational and NoSQL database
Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS cloud services
