Fullstack Engineer, AI Tooling, Tesla Bot

As a member of the Tesla Bot Tooling team you will design and implement a diverse set of tools that power our Optimus operation, data collection and evaluation for our machine learning workflows. You will work closely with some of the best, world-class AI researchers and machine learning experts towards Tesla's goal of delivering millions of humanoid robots performing work in real world applications tasks. All data collection, evaluation, data visualization, issuing commands, robot health, fleet management and issue triage flows through the tool you will work on. Improvements to this platform increase the productivity of engineers across the program and accelerate Optimus development.

As an engineer on the Tesla Bot AI Tooling team, you'll bring top-notch software engineering skills to contribute to our tooling systems immediately in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of machine learning, computer vision, or neural networks is a plus but not required. A strong candidate for the Tesla Bot AI Tooling team will either be an excellent software generalist, or someone who is exceptionally strong in either backend or frontend engineering.

• Improve the software platform that visualizes and enables control of the Optimus robots

• Design and implement large-scale data processing pipelines that handle a diverse set of Tesla Bot related data such as images, sensor inputs, and human labels

• Design and implement tools, tests, metrics, and dashboards to accelerate the development cycle of our model training

• Create mobile applications for engineers and technicians working on and testing the bots

• Work across the frontend, backend, and related infrastructure to deliver end to end features

• Work closely with robotics engineers and AI researchers to support evolving research projects and implement new production features

• Strong grasp of Python and JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as Flask/React

• Ability to independently work with engineers and operators to rapidly create new features that are reliable, secure and impactful

• Strong UI and graphic design sensibilities

• Experience with React Native or other mobile development is a plus

• Experience with 3d Graphics, OpenGL, WebGL, or THREE.js. is a plus

• Experience with AWS is a plus

• Experience with real-time data processing is a plus

• Experience with scientific computing libraries such as numpy or pandas is a plus

• Knowledge of machine learning or computer vision is a plus
