POSITION SUMMARY:Under direct supervision, creates department schedules and coordinates technicians and equipment for technical aspects of the facility.
Responsible for accurate time keeping and reporting of payroll items to Accounting.
Creates and follows up on event financial summaries and supervises daily work calls and crew projects.
Assists the Technical Services Manager with client meetings concerning technical services ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Supervise and coordinate with all Full Time and part Time contractual technicians and stagehands.
    Assign specific work tasks and monitor progress as to timeliness and quality of results.

  • Create the weekly shift schedule, and distribute that schedule in a timely manner to department staff.
    Manage time cards in payroll system.

  • Report Event Summaries and enter this information into SMG GO facility files.

  • Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with all the other SMG departments.
    Provide meaningful and beneficial input into the facility master scheduling procedure

  • Develop, implement, document and maintain effective facility maintenance policies, procedures, and programs.
    To include preventive maintenance on all lighting, sound, video, rigging, and all other Audio-Visual equipment.

  • Provide timely response, coordinate transportation, and follow up on resolution of repair items requiring out-of-facility attention.
    Work with TSM on processing documentation.

  • Provide cause for proper control and care of all lighting, sound, video, rigging, and all other Audio-Visual equipment, and manage inventories of supplies, parts, shop tools, and equipment.

  • Provide cause for proper control and care of all life safety materials (PPE) that are used in stage rigging.

  • Provide Cause for proper maintenance shop(s) conditions to be maintained to safe working conditions, safe working procedures, and in a clean and orderly work environment.

  • Prepare and provide to the management team specific reports and documents as requested by the supervisor.

  • Work with Event Manager and Coordinators to facilitate lighting, sound and audio-visual needs of the clients.

  • Assist in crew discipline issues and late/no show memos.
    Keeps TSM apprised of employee attendance, discipline issues and concerns.

  • Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONIBILITIES * Supervise and coordinate with all Full Time and part Time contractual technicians and stagehands.
    Assign specific work tasks and monitor progress as to timeliness and quality of results.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Demonstrable proper knowledge and technique in the use and maintenance of sound and lighting consoles.

  • Demonstrable proper knowledge and technique in the use of video distribution equipment.

  • Demonstrable proper knowledge and use of all procedures, techniques, machines, materials, equipment and tools used in technical construction and maintenance.

  • Possess knowledge and experience in industry terminology, event-related services, facility capabilities and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.

  • Possess an understanding of facility's electrical, mechanical and other systems.

  • Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operations of the equipment found in the facility.

  • Respond to routine, precautionary and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems.
    Follow and adhere to all safety precautions and procedures.

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patron and others encountered in the course of employment.

  • Read and comprehend blueprints, drawings and other related materials.

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
    Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.

  • Meet physical demands of job, which entail climbing, lifting and carrying.

  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.

  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
    MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * High School or GED Certificate graduate.
    Two years related experience and/or training or equivalent work experience.
    COMPUTER SKILLS * Operate a personal computer using Windows, Office and other standard office equipment.

  • Must have strong computer skills, Excel and Word.
