Consonus provides PT, OT, and SLP services to seniors in skilled nursing facilities (SNF) or continuing care retirement communities (CCRC). Speech Language Pathologists specialize in assisting people who have an illness, injury or disability that affects their ability to communicate effectively in their environment.
In addition, Speech Language Pathologists address issues related to swallowing disorders.
Treatment may focus on increasing intelligibility of speech, using alternative or augmentative devices to facilitate better communication of wants and needs, addressing cognitive functioning, and improving swallowing safety through oral exercises and diet texture modification.

Minimum Position

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university

VIEW JOBS 1/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-13T00:00 Overview The Speech and Language Pathologist (CCC/CF) works as a member of multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment team in an effort to meet the varied needs of public charter school students. The SLP functions as the direct service provider in the implementation of services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and general education services. The Speech and Language Pathologist also acts in a consulting capacity to teachers and school staff around the delivery of an enriched language program to all students, with special attention given to the needs of English Language Learners. Responsibilities * Provide speech and language services to identified students. * Assess students who appear to be in need of speech and language treatment. * Attend IEPs and evaluation of student progress as required by the IEP review process. * Work effectively as a member of a dynamic multi-disciplinary intervention team. * Provide consultation and support to school staff regarding the language needs of all students. * Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, classrooms and support staff. * Smaller caseload than traditional public schools. Qualifications * Master's degree in speech pathology or related field * Washington Educational Staff Associate (ESA) for public schools * Washington State License * Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC), or Clinical Fellow (CF) application * Valid driver's license and insurability through Seneca's automobile policy * Fulfillment of TB test, fingerprinting and state clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements Schedule * Monday - Friday Benefits * Competitive salary * Up to $500 for continuing education and licensure reimbursement * Opportunity to gain hours and support towards board certification in child language disorders * Comprehensive employee benefits package, including medical, dental, vision and chiropractic coverage, as well as partially paid premiums for dependents. * Additional stipend for bilingual Spanish abilities upon successful completion of the language proficiency exam. * Employer-paid Employee Assistance Plan (EAP). * 7 weeks of school breaks * 1 week of PTO, and 4 weeks of teacher days off * Mileage reimbursement Seneca Center Seattle WA
