Full Time Special Needs Support Person

Full time support person/caregiver needed for a family with a 22-year-old young woman with Cerebral Palsy who is full of joy, loves music, and being out in the community. Despite needing assistance for communication, she is extremely engaging, social, and expressive. Looking for someone who will assist her at various activities during the week including cooking class, a social group, volunteering at a book store, driving to various therapies, and initiating other activities to promote independence (grocery store, library, simple household chores) and assisting with daily living skills (showers, toileting, dressing) as well as stretching, and movement throughout the day. Home has ramps and a lift. This young woman is full of personality and appreciates a companion who is active, engaging, silly, and patient. Experience working with disabilities and/or a passion for learning is required. Willing to teach how to use all equipment and technology.

• Pay $30 hr.
• Start date: full time mid-August and open to part time ASAP
• Hours: Monday -Wednesday 8:30am-6:00pm, Thursday 2:00pm-6:00pm, Friday 1:30pm-6:00pm
• Guaranteed 35 hrs per week. There is some flexibility
• Weekend and evening hours available if interested.
• Above hours may differ in the fall due to other part time caregivers
• Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation, 5 sick days, Holidays, health insurance stipend
• Work vehicle is provided but will need own car to get to and from home

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and vehicle
• Must be an excellent driver with a clean driving record
• Must have relevant experience
• Provide 3-5 processional references
• Show legal right to work in the U.S.
