Full-Time Registered Nurse (Rn) Float Pool (Day Shift)

Inova Alexandria Hospital is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Pool team on a full-time basis. The Float Pool RN will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care across various units within the hospital during the day shift. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment while utilizing your clinical skills to their fullest potential.

Unit Assignments:

• Acute Care General Units:

• Unit 23 (Med-Surg)

• Unit 26 (Ortho Surgical)

• Unit 4N (Medical Oncology)

• Acute Care Tele Units:

• Unit 21 (Cardiac Tele)

• Unit 25 (Cardiac/Neuro)

• Intermediate Care (IMC):

• Unit 28 (Cardiac/Pulmonary)

• Intensive Care Units (ICU):

• MSICU (Medical Surgical ICU)

• CVNICU (Cardiovascular Neurosurgical ICU)

Patient Ratios:

• Acute Care General Units: 1:5
• Acute Care Tele Units: 1:4
• IMC: 1:3-4
• ICU: 1:1-2

As a Float Pool RN you'll provide exceptional patient care and peer support across our adult medical / surgical / telemetry units. The Inova RN:

• Provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.

• Consistently provides safe, therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way. Incorporates differences into the provision of care.

• Conducts all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.

• Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education.

• Uses an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.

• Serves as an empowering body to influence patient empowerment, and successful outcomes of financial and clinical quality, through relationships and access-based knowledge. Utilizes standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

• Determines process for delivery of care from direct patient and family communication, technology, and other healthcare team member collaboration.

• Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning

Requirements:

• 1+ years of acute care RN experience

• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 24 months of start date.

• Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification (American Heart Association) required. ACLS and PALS or other advanced certification required within 6 months.

• Licensure: licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
