SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, 8a-4:30p Monday thru Friday
JOB SUMMARY:
Demonstrates effective use of the nursing process in providing care to cardiac rehab clients, and cardiovascular editing/testing of clients. Believes in the mission and vision of the Cardiac Services Department. Promotes continuity of care by communicating with patient care providers, family and other disciplines in planning and coordination of care. Performs general duties in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Able to work with broad range of ages from the pediatric to the geriatric population.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Graduate of an accredited RN program, BSN preferred.
Current Registration and Licensure in the State of Iowa as an RN. Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code ACLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.
ECG Cardiac Dysrhythmia's preferred
Stress Test Experience preferred
Experience in medical and/or exercise health and fitness is desired.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
High degree of empathetic listening skills, tact and kindness toward others.
Ability to communicate well verbally. Must work effectively as a member of a team.
Basic computer knowledge
Technical and critical thinking skills in relation to sound nursing judgment.
Knowledge of nursing practices as they relate to cardiac services.
