Responsibilities

Provides mental health assessment and treatment to clients with psychiatric symptoms, cognitive deficits, and/or behavioral problems. Provides support and education to VNSNY staff to enable them to better care for clients with psychiatric, cognitive and/or behavioral problems. Works under moderate supervision.

Licensure:License and current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in NYS required. Valid driver's license may be required, as determined by operational/regional needs. Successful completion of a Psychiatric Nursing Clinical Certification program preferred.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's in Psychiatric Nursing preferred.

Experience:Minimum two years RN experience preferred, with at least one year of medical/surgical and/or recent psychiatric mental health nursing experience required. Home care experience preferred.

A minimum of 2,000 hours of clinical practice in psychiatricmental health nursing within the last 3 years is preferred. Bilingual skills may be required, as determined by operational needs.

Responsibilities Provides direct psychosocial services to clients in the community who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or have frequent contact with the mental health system, substance use system, or criminal justice system. Assists in the overall functioning of the Intensive Mobile Treatment (IMT) Program. Works under general supervision. Licensure: Valid driver's NY State license may be required, as determined by operational/regional needs. Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related degree required. Experience: Minimum of one year as a social service provider experience with clients in a mental health setting required. Experience working in substance abuse treatment or mental health counseling or within a criminal justice system required. CASAC and/or other related trainings preferred.
