ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track Program Coordinator/Instructor for Civil Engineering Technology in the Technical Education and Workforce Development Division.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this full-time, tenure-track faculty position requires the faculty member to serve as the Program Coordinator and Instructor. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall direction of the program and will report to the Dean of Technical Education and Workforce Development. The coordinator will be responsible for the Civil Engineering Technology program, which includes the AAS degree and related certificates. This position will require competencies in the following areas: Math (Trigonometry), analyzing site plans/details/schedules, analyzing soil samples, computer aided drafting, material quantity take-off, civil construction specifications, land surveying (construction staking), quality control, construction reporting/work documentation, maintaining project records and files, and construction safety (OSHA 30).
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate of Applied Science with 2 or more years of experience working under the supervision of a civil engineer required. Bachelors of Science preferred.
Experience teaching in a technology program preferred. Community college teaching experience preferred.
Experience in heavy civil and road construction preferred.
IDOT Asphalt Level I, II, and III certifications preferred.
ACI Field and Lab Certifications preferred.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
The salary for this position is determined by placement on the base salary schedule. For example, the minimum 2023-2024 base salary at Step 1 on the Below Master's Degree column is $48,976. The actual salary is determined by educational level and placement on the appropriate salary schedule and any courses taught beyond the regular load.
