South College Nashville learning site located in Nashville TN, is conducting a search for the position of nursing faculty (instructor/assistant professor/associate professor; commensurate with experience) for the South College School of Nursing. The position will have primary teaching responsibilities in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing; however, may cross prelicensure nursing programs depending on educational level. This is a full-time, on ground campus-based position. Full time faculty are responsible for teaching and student facing hours every week. 32 hours on ground and 8 remote hours per week.
The LPN (evening/weekend), ASN and BSN (daytime) program curriculum requires Specialty practice areas in nursing are leveled and taught accordingly. Nashville campus is seeking qualified educators in the areas of : pediatrics, med surg and human body. Applicants with experience teaching in these areas or with extensive clinical experience in these areas will be given priority review.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain professional standards of practice in teaching in the classroom and in clinical settings.
Meet South College standards for course syllabi creation and submission, classroom management, use of technology, grade submission, and records management.
Function as a part of South College and South College School of Nursing faculty group. Participate in meetings, projects, recruiting, and committee work.
Prepare and implement teaching and evaluation strategies for engagement of students in the profession of nursing.
Support student success through mentoring, tutoring, and advising.
Maintain currency in education and nursing knowledge and application through continuing education activities.
Contribute to the School of Nursing and South College evaluation processes to measure outcomes
Requirements
Doctorate Degree or in Nursing preferred
Two calendar years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse
Formal education in teaching and learning principles for adult education preferred, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation preferred.
Unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in TN or in one of the eNLC compact states
Teaching experience preferred
