Full Time Nursing Faculty- Northwest Region

Job Description

Vermont State University, School of Nursing, invites applications for one full-time, Tenure-Track Professor, rank of Assistant or Associate, depending upon previous teaching experience, to teach and/or co-teach in our progressive 1 + 1 programs (Practical Nursing and associate degree Nursing). Courses will be offered in person in our Northwest region (St. Albans and/or Williston). Position may didactic, clinical or simulation-based instruction.

We seek candidates with general medical-surgical nursing experience working in acute or chronic care populations. Preference will be given to those with previous classroom, distance/online and/or clinical teaching experiences.

The successful candidate would start in December 2023 or January 2024

Specific Tasks/Duties performed:

• Manage Canvas Course

• Design/Deliver curriculum

• May include clinical and/or simulation-based instruction

• Academic Advising

• Service to the College/Committee work

Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in nursing, or doctorate in Nursing, preferred by the time of appointment. Teaching load will average 24 credit hours or the equivalent per academic year. All candidates must hold an unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the

state in which they will practice. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, to ongoing professional development, and to working closely with our nursing students. Committee service and academic advising are expected.

We seek candidates with general medical-surgical nursing experience working in acute or chronic care populations.

Work Location: In the Northwest region (St. Albans, Williston). Regional travel may be required.
